JSW Group, MG Motor India announce joint venture; Aiming to build new energy vehicles:

JSW Group and Chinese automaker SAIC Motor-owned MG Motor India on Thursday launched their joint venture that will produce both electric and internal combustion engine vehicles to capture a larger share of the Indian market.

MG Cyberster Launch Date and Price

MG Cyberster is scheduled to be launched in international markets in mid-2024. The all-electric sports car is estimated to be priced around  Rs 53 lakh. 

JSW MG Motor is a joint venture between Indian conglomerate JSW Group and Chinese automaker SAIC Motor.   The company was formed in 2017 with the aim of developing and manufacturing Electric Vehicles (EVs) for the Indian market.

 JSW MG Motor currently offers two electric vehicles in India: MG ZS EV and MG Comet EV.
* MG ZS EV is a compact SUV that offers a range of up to 461 km on a single charge.   It is powered by a 50.3 kWh battery pack and a 176 hp electric motor.
* The MG Comet EV is a more affordable electric vehicle with a range of up to 230 km.   It is powered by a 17.3 kWh battery pack and a 110 hp electric motor.
  JSW MG Motor is also planning to launch a new electric CUV in India later this year   This new model will compete with the Tata Curvv EV and is expected to offer a range of over 461 km.


  Here are more details on the MG ZS EV:

   * Battery: 50.3 kWh lithium-ion battery pack
   * Power: 176.75 PS electric motor
   * Torque: 280 Nm
   * Charging:
   * 0-80% in about 60 minutes using 50 kW DC fast charger
   * 0-100% in 8.5 to 9 hours using 7.4 kW AC charger
   * Range: Up to 461 km (claimed)
