Hero Super Splendor Highlights

Production of the Hero Super Splendor has been temporarily halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Hero had launched the BS6 Super Splendor in late-February and hence there shouldn’t be any delays in deliveries of the bike once the lockdown ends.

Hero Super Splendor Features:

The Hero Super Splendor is a pretty conventional looking commuter motorcycle. The design of the Super Splendor has not changed but Hero has spruced up the commuter motorcycle with new decals and colour options. There are no LED lighting systems to be found on the bike. The analogue console has a large speedometer in the centre with a fuel gauge on its right and several tell tale lights on the left of the speedo, which includes a side stand indicator. Hero’s patented i3S engine start-stop system is also found on the bike.

Hero Super Splendor Engine:

Powering the Hero Super Splendor is a 124.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine that puts out 11PS and 10.6Nm. With the BS6 updates, this engine produces 0.4Nm less. A big update on the BS6 version is the inclusion of a 5-speed gearbox, which we believe is borrowed from the Glamour Fi.

Hero Super Splendor Suspension & Brakes:

Hero has tweaked the mechanicals of the BS6 Super Splendor. The diamond frame remains the same. The suspension units though, i.e. the telescopic fork and twin shocks, have been given a little bit extra suspension travel. And with the 180mm of ground clearance, the Super Splendor should be easily capable of tackling any obstacles in its path. You have a choice of a 240mm disc or a 130mm drum brake at the front while a 130mm drum brake at the rear and CBS is common on both trims.

The Hero Super Splendor is for those who are looking for a little more powerful Splendor. This basic 125cc commuter might not have flashy looks or enticing features but it comes stamped with the trademarked Hero trustworthiness. The main rivals of the Super Splendor remain the Honda Shine BS6 and the Bajaj Pulsar 125. For the same price though, you could also get the TVS Ntorq 125, Yamaha Fascino 125 or Suzuki Access 125
