SUZUKI GIXXER SF 250 PRICE IN INDIA

The 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 ABS has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 1.71 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). This is the second time Suzuki has returned to the quarter-litre space in India, after the very capable but expensive Suzuki Inazuma, which came with a parallel-twin engine. The Inazuma, despite being a solid product with a very smooth and refined engine, failed to achieve any commercial success. Suzuki did offer the Inazuma with a price correction, but it couldn't make any headway and had to be pulled off the market. The new Gixxer SF 250 will be the second shot from Suzuki at the 250 cc space, and this time around the pricing is more in tune with the current crop of 250 cc bikes available in the market, and the Gixxer 250 comes well-specced to take on the competition too.

The new Gixxer SF 250 is powered by a 249 cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, fuel-injected engine which puts out 26 bhp of maximum power at 9000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of peak torque at 7500 rpm. The SOHC motor is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The new Gixxer 250 has a sharply-designed fairing with the engine casing exposed, and gets a LED headlight, clip-on handlebars, split seats and multi-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels shod with fat rubber. The instrument panel is a full LCD unit with a dual-exit exhaust system. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear, with standard dual-channel ABS.

The most powerful option in the quarter-litre segment is KTM Duke 250 with 30 HP of output and thus, 26.5 HP feels decent in comparison to the indirect rival. Suzuki will definitely offer a naked version of the SF 250 and one can clearly assume the high current-gen price tag to justify the placement of their streetfighter.
